APSDA meetings and the SE Asia trip

Thanks for praying for Matsumoto and Hori in SE Asia last month. It was exciting to hear what is happening in the country they visited. In the capital city alone, there are 400 Deaf believers. Leaders from 7-8 Deaf churches throughout the country gathered and formed an organization to cooperate in Bible translation and language & community development. They are meeting again this month, and will also be sending a representative to join APSDA (Asia Pacific Sign Language Development Association) in the upcoming meeting in the Philippines.

APSDA is meeting January 15-22 in the Philippines. Praise God for the people and groups who have stepped up to support this, and for top level facilitators. Please be praying for the meetings. They will include a Board meeting and an organizational development workshop that will help set directions for years to come. After the workshop, there will also be a Philippine-wide meeting to help get a translation project started there.
