Colossians In Yamagata

Mark is in Yamagata this week for an intensive focus on Colossians. Ms. Yano did the Colossians translation. After several checks and  three drafts worth of changes, she was ready for the comprehension check. We brought in a friend who didn’t know the Bible. She watched the translation and told us what she understood it to mean. There was quite a bit of revision needed, so Ms. Yano ended up essentially doing a whole new draft, #4.  This version was checked by four people, who wrote down their questions and suggestions.

Now we’re at the stage where the signer, Pastor Matsumoto takes over. Ms. Yano came to Yamagata to coach him through the process of copying her signs, and help with the needed corrections. Mr. Hori is overseeing the process and making sure all the corrections get made. Mark is here to support him and add suggestions when necessary. Pray for the four in Yamagata, and for the Tokyo staff they connect with by webcam back at the office.
