Off to Manila

Mark was recently accepted as a part-time volunteer member of SIL Asia area, a group of Christians involved in translation and language development. Since his “part-time work” with SIL consists of work he’s already doing full-time in Japan with ViBi, nothing changes for his day-to-day job description. The main reason for the arrangement is to give him much better access to the translation resources of SIL, and SIL better access to his years of experience in the Deaf community and Sign Language Bible translation.
Mark heads to Manila today for 10 days of SIL Asia Area meetings. He will connect with the team that focuses on signed languages, learn the lingo of the group, and find out what resources are available to enhance Sign Language Bible translation both in Japan and throughout Asia.
