Serve Ogden

Thanks for praying! Mark’s week in Utah was a delight. For years, Washington Heights Church (WHC) has supported the Japan field with short-term teams, logistical support, and financial support. This year, the Japan field had a chance to give back. Instead of sending teams overseas, WHC offered us a chance to join them in “Serve Ogden,” giving a facelift to 24 yards and houses in a low income community in Ogden. Over 500 people joined to make a difference in their city.

Those of us who could go received far more than we gave. Working side by side with local church members to serve their community, we got to be part of something large, visible, and impactful. We got to make new friends, both from the church and the community. And for Mark in particular, being on “Team Barbie” and meeting Heatherlee, the owner of the house we were working on, was the icing on the cake. Thanks, WHC, for letting us be a part.
